E V Rocks Inc. is a 501(c)3 charity born in 2020 after my father was diagnosed with Stage IV Esophageal Cancer. There are a million things that happen in the days, weeks, and months after an initial diagnosis and it’s difficult to figure out how to move forward. On top of being scared and entirely overwhelmed, you’re faced with an influx of new information and the seemingly insurmountable burden of paying for care.

While most people expect medical bills to pile up from the start, there are numerous other care-related expenses which are necessary to keep the patient both safe and comfortable. For instance, the patient may suddenly need a new wardrobe because their clothes no longer fit, the car may need increased maintenance to keep up with the countless trips to the doctors’ offices and treatment centers, or the house may need a ramp installed for wheelchair access when the patient can no longer walk. The list is endless and every day you’re faced with expenses you never thought you’d have to plan for.

Whether your family needs financial, emotional, or physical support - E V Rocks is here to help. Our mission is to provide aid to families facing a cancer diagnosis within our community. Through the help of our generous donors, we will offer monetary donations, assist in obtaining clothing and medical supplies, and provide resources that will guide families throughout their journey.

Scholarship Award:

An award of $3,000.00 will be given to a graduating senior residing in New York State or Puerto Rico who plans to pursue a degree in architecture or music and who has significantly given back to their community.

Eligibility:

Student must be a graduating senior for the 2023 - 2024 school year.

Student must attend school or be home schooled in the State of New York or Puerto Rico.

Student must be an active participant and in good academic standing with their school.

Student must be majoring in architecture or persuing one of the following music concentrations: musical studies, music education, music history/theory, music business/industry, music technology, songwriting/composition, or audio production.

Student must be an active, upstanding member of their community.

Application Due Date: May 10, 2024

Notification of Scholarship Recipient: By June 1, 2024
